A spoiler is an automotive aerodynamic device whose planned design purpose is to'spoil' unfavorable air movement across a body of a vehicle in motion, usually called turbulence or drag.  Spoilers on the front of a car are often referred to as air dams car spoiler is a wing-shaped device that's usually positioned at the back of the vehicle over the trunk.  Originally, the units have been used on race cars so as to stabilize the vehicles at high rates.  In modern times they're employed in a number of ways.Functions of automobile spoilersReducing the total amount of drag: drag is the resistance made by air that the vehicle passes through.  Since air is very light, it enables objects to pass through it in lower rates; however, since the speed increases, air generates resistance which normally slows down the vehicle.  A spoiler is designed in a way that it reduces the immunity which lets you easily push against atmosphere thus attaining maximum speed.  Increasing traction: traction is the stability of the car on the road.  It is dependent on a number of factors such as the car's weight, amount of bicycle that is connected with the street along with the grasping power of this rubber on the tire.  A spoiler may be angled in such a manner that it leads to the air around a fast-moving automobile to press back on the vehicle thus creating a downward force on the scooter thereby increasing grip.   He simulation of external aerodynamics is one of the most difficult and significant automotive CFD applications.  With the rapid advancements of electronic computers, CFD is used as a useful tool in modern fluid dynamics research.  It incorporates fluid mechanics disciplines, mathematics, and computer science.  In this study, two different kinds of simulations were made, one for the flow around a simplified high-speed passenger car using a rear-spoiler and another for the flow with no rear-spoiler.  The standard k-!  model is selected to numerically simulate the external flow area of this simplified Camry version with or without a rear-spoiler.  Through an analysis of the simulation results, a new rear spoiler is designed and it reveals a mild reduction of the vehicle aerodynamic drag.  This contributes to less vehicle fuel consumption on the road.
